I am studying in Panama and participating in the McGill Panama Field Study Semester with the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institution. I am taking classes in Biology and Geography and will be doing an internship during my time here with a local NGO (all the while working on my spanish). I've decided to start a blog to post photos and to update everyone on my adventures so please subscribe if you're interested!

Beach day and Parque Nacional Soberania
This past week has been incredibly busy. On Sunday we decided (quite last minute) to go to the beach for the day. The closest beaches where you can swim are about 45 minutes away by bus, so we hopped on one and made our way to Playa Palmar. We spent the day lounging around in the sun. Once we had arrived, I read my guidebook and realized it said that this was one of the least nice beaches around, which really put things into perspective given how nice it actually was!
On Monday, we went to Parque Nacional Soberania, which is just on the edge of the city to do some field work.
