Fort Sherman Round 2

I had been to Fort Sherman my first weekend in Panama. This past week we went back with for one of our classes to actually use the crane! This construction crane is 52m tall with a 50 m radius and has been set up by the Smithsonian as a tool for researchers to get up and above the canopy. The view from the top is stunning, as you are given three-dimensional access to the forest.

Surprise findings during our 2-hour walk to camp

You can see the city of Colón in the distance

Rio Chagres

We camped there for the night

Climbing more trees!
